Fascial Manipulation® for Performance & Resilient Movement

At My Movement Physical Therapy, Fascial Manipulation® is an advanced, hands-on approach designed to restore efficient movement, reduce pain, and improve performance by addressing the fascial system, the connective tissue network that transmits force throughout your body.

This is not passive rehab. It’s a systems-based method used to improve how your body loads, transfers force, and recovers.   Especially when traditional approaches have stalled.

What Is Fascial Manipulation®?

Fascial Manipulation® is a specialized manual therapy developed by Italian physiotherapist Luigi Stecco, grounded in decades of anatomical research and clinical application.

Instead of isolating a painful muscle or joint, this method evaluates how force is coordinated across the entire movement system. Pain, tightness, or performance limitations often show up where the system is compensating.  By treating specific, clinically identified points within the fascia, normal force transmission, tissue glide, and movement efficiency can be restored.

Why Fascia Matters for Performance

Fascia is the connective tissue system responsible for:

  • Force transmission between muscles
  • Load distribution across joints
  • Movement efficiency and coordination
  • Elastic energy storage and release

When fascia becomes restricted or densified, it can:

  • Reduce power output
  • Increase unnecessary muscle tension
  • Overload tendons and joints
  • Limit range of motion and control
  • Contribute to chronic or recurring pain

This is why training harder doesn’t always solve the problem.

Performance Problems This Approach Addresses

Fascial Manipulation® is especially effective for:

  • Chronic or recurring pain that limits training
  • Shoulder, hip, knee, and spine movement restrictions
  • Tendon issues (Achilles, patellar, rotator cuff, elbow)
  • Loss of speed, strength, or coordination
  • Recurrent strains or overuse injuries
  • Athletes who feel “tight,” restricted, or inefficient without a clear injury

How This Is Different

Most treatments focus on symptoms or isolated tissues.

Fascial Manipulation®:

  • Addresses the mechanical cause of movement dysfunction
  • Treats the body as a connected force-transmission system
  • Uses precise assessment rather than generic protocols
  • Often requires fewer treatment areas for meaningful change
  • Produces changes that athletes and active adults can feel immediately

What to Expect

Your session may include:

  • A detailed movement and performance assessment
  • Evaluation of force transmission and fascial coordination
  • Targeted hands-on treatment to specific fascial points
  • Integration with strength and movement retraining
  • Education so you understand how to train, load, and recover more effectively

Every session is one-on-one, individualized, and goal-driven.
